Fiber for the gypsum

RED TOP Wood-Fiber Gypsum Plaster is formulated to be used as is or with the addition of local sand- up to equal proportions by weight.It is a high-strength, basecoat plaster manufactured with fine particles of selected wood-fiber, delivering a plastic working material that conforms to most designs, helping achieve durability in walls and ceilings.

The plaster mixes with water and can be used without aggregates, applying by hand or machine to all standard lath and masonry plaster bases (gypsum and metal lath, gypsum and clay tile, concrete and cinder blocks). It is strongly recommended as a scratch coat for metal lath.

The plaster provides excellent fire protection when properly proportioned with approved aggregates and when used as part of a system that has been tested for fire resistance by UL. It also offers sound dampening.
